In a stunning development, Wilderness Assistant GM left the club over the weekend and formed his own franchise named “North West Rockies” to compete in the ITHL. The Rockies have already signed former assistant captain defensemen Scharrizzard, and are likely to pick up his roommate Bryman too.

In response to these events, Wilderness issued a short statement: “We’re still a close team, and we still have a great group of guys”, said GM Namkce, “the loss of these guys doesn’t change anything in terms of our goal of having fun.”

As for the Rockies, it looks like the Wilderness will have a new rival. “It’ll be a friendly rivalry, there’s no bad blood between us, but make no mistake, we will want to beat them if and when we play them.”

In the meantime, the Wilderness are considering their options going forward. With the roster slimmed down a bit, it has provided new opportunities for more members to get ice time with the club. There have been situations in the past, where too many members were online and the club was forced to either do intrasquads, or go into separate dressing rooms for 6s and 3s matches.

For example, long time yet infrequently seen member “Pugs” skated with the club last night and helped the team secure back to back shutouts with his exemplary play. Pugs hasn’t played much since 2019, so it was a welcomed sign to see him skating again.

In addition, long time member Dill-Weed was promoted to Assistant Captain late Thursday night. Said Dill-Weed, “Yes thanks man!!! Will only get better from here bro” upon accepting his newly pressed “A” jersey.
